Online Help Screen Layout

The online help facility has a tri-pane layout that consists of the navigation bar, reference pane, and topic pane. Click the informational links for more information:

Navigation BarNavigation Bar

The navigation bar is at the top of the online help window and contains the Contents, Index, and Search tabs and a search field and button.

Click Contents to display the table of contents.
Click Index to display the index.
Click Search to enter a keyword and display the results of the search.
Type a keyword in the - Search - field and click search to search for a keyword and displays the results of the search.

Reference PaneReference Pane

The reference pane is to the left of the topic pane. The contents of the reference pane depend on the tab you click in the navigation bar.

Click a Tab or perform a keyword search from the search field on the navigation bar to display the reference pane.

Click the button in the reference pane bar to hide reference pane, and the Contents tab to redisplay.

Topic PaneTopic Pane

The topic pane contains the information about the current screen and links to other topics where you can go for additional help.

The topic text contains major information about the screen. It may also contain links to other topics that might be of interest to you. It also contains a Related Topic button that displays a list of topics that apply to the entire system.

You can also:

Adjust the window and pane size:
Adjust the width and height of the Help window by dragging the edges of the window in or out.
Adjust the width of the left pane by dragging the edges of the left pane until the mouse pointer turns into a line with arrows on each end (). With the left mouse button, drag the pane to the right or left.
Hide the left pane to provide a larger viewing area of the open topic. To display the right pane again, click the Contents, Index, Search, or Glossary button, depending on which pane you want to see.
Use the Internet Explorer Browser toolbar to go back and forward through the history of visited topics, print a topic, or perform other tasks.
