An order can possess one of the statuses described in the table below.

Open |
When you Create an Order, it opens. An order that is open means:

Closed |
Orders close because the order completes and a policy is (or will be) issued. Closing an Order is a two-stage process:

Canceled |
Orders are canceled because a title company’s customer cancels an order without a policy being created. However, sometimes a prelim or commitment might be produced that can be posted to the plant for use as a starter. You can Cancel an Order in TitlePoint when a prelim or commitment is written and will be sent to the plant to post as a starter. When you cancel an order, TitlePoint:

Deleted |
You delete orders that are no longer necessary (such as from an opening error, escrow fell through, no money was received, or no policy will be produced), where you want no visible record on the plant for those orders. Deleting an Order makes them no longer available on the system. When you delete an order, TitlePoint deletes the property and tax postings on the plant system. |
