Canceling Orders

Orders are canceled because a title company’s customer cancels an order without a policy being created. However, sometimes a prelim or commitment might be produced that can be posted to the plant for use as a starter.

You can Cancel an Open order in TitlePoint when a prelim or commitment is written and will be sent to the plant to post as a starter. When you Cancel an order, TitlePoint:

Updates property postings on the plant system to indicate Cancel. A Cancel posting will not be a "starter" type posting or indicate the policy type. Starter type will post to the plant when documents/policies are received to create an image, and then the Cancel posting will change to Prelim/Commitment Good for Starter.
Deletes tax posting records (if applicable).
