To enter tax identification number for a tax search:
Type your Tax Identification Number in Tax # using the appropriate format that displays on the screen above the Tax Identification Number field. The tax number format example changes when you change the county, as counties use different tax formats.
You can enter ranges of tax numbers or non-consecutive tax numbers. For example, typing:
410-21-17:21 yields parcels 17-21 of book 410, page 21.
410-21-17,19,21 yields parcels 17, 19, and 21.
In some counties, where the Tax Identification Number has discreet fields in which to type:
Auto-tabbing is employed when you reach the maximum number of characters possible for a field.
You can use the period (.) key on the 10-key pad to tab in lieu of the Tab key. Note that some tax number portions can use a period as part of the number. In such cases, period tabbing does not work.
