About Cross Reference

Cross Reference is a back-end system function that ties the following pieces of information together, so that when you type one attribute for a search, the system can automatically retrieve the other attributes:

Tax Identification Number
Property Address
Legal Description
Owner Name

Depending on the county, cross reference data is either acquired from the county Assessor or built by Property Insight from mortgages and conveyances.

In Tax Searches, Cross Reference is a Pick List that displays the previously mentioned pieces of information when more than one result is found. Using this list, you can choose the most appropriate tax report(s) to review, and from which to auto-run property searches when Running Combination Searches.

Cross Reference is also used to identify the Find Order Pick List.
